Yes, in fact, I binged watched all five seasons, and so many of the ideas expressed in the show can be applied to the events of today....perhaps beginning with the reference to Shelley's Frankenstein, relationship of Creator and Created, the creation of the Machine and reference to the era of Greek Gods and Myths, that tell us so much about ourselves, are we digressing to that era, where people do not believe that they are free or progressing by their own initiative and use of gifts given, but instead we are simply pawns of greater powers, "gods".....Samaritan vs Machine, or for us, a few Big Tech companies who censor thought and have practical monopolistic control of what we buy, or influence us to be blind to human rights abuses in CCP controlled China and other parts of the world where materials are mined and produced? Yes, the planned pandemic by Samaritan and the vaccine given as a means of social control is not just a science fiction idea, or even the way that Vigilance was a manipulated activity meant to discredit those who actually seek freedom and try to revive what the founding fathers established in the constitution, even the philosophical underbearings, but perhaps is a consequence of our human nature from the very beginning, like the desert journey in Exodus, the difficulty of being a free people means we must live by responsibility, "the law of God", or be easily decieved, and go back to the "fleshpots of Egypt", building blocks of mud and straw for a pyramid, where power is accumulated into a few hands.
Does Person of Interest end with hope or hopelessnes? Are the miseries of Pandora's Box opened to great to be overcome by the last object in the box, hope?
The show does not say either way, except to provide the possiblility that if power is distributed, the example of previous people who were "saved" by the team, using their gifts, to allow people to live "off the grid", and local communities that are sustained, in freedom and responsibility. We do have real life examples, look back to Eastern Europe, caught in the middle of East and West powers, fascism and communism, and went back to the history of man, to find "Distributism", writers such as Dorothy Day, Wendell Berry, Alexander Chayonov (who disappeared into a Soviet Gulag for what he wrote about). It is the root of how the Solidarity movement brought down Soviet control in Poland, and eventually the fall of the Berlin Wall. Poland and Hungary have been attempting this way of freedom for several decades
