<p>How very clever of Finch to use the name Ice9 for the computer virus. That's a clear reference to Kurt Vonnegut's "Cat's Cradle", in which the substance, Ice9, freezes anything it touches. I'm guessing this virus may freeze Samaritan. </p><p>This was an outstanding episode, and seeing the old faces was great. I loved the end when they had the mini reunion. </p><p>Next week's episode certainly looks intense. </p>

<p>I was a bit surprised that there was so little emotion seeing Shaw walking up to the team with Root. I would've expected a little more reaction. I suppose we're to think all the questions will be handled off screen. Time constraint probably, but still. </p>

<p>That was exceptional and kudos to Oliver and the actors who filed this piece. Land of the Free, Home of the Brave. </p>

<p>I am right there with you. IMO one of the only wins we got this season was the death of Martine, and she got off far too easily. There's some thought that Control will become an ally, but she's rather untrustworthy at best. I hope we see Greer and company sweat early and often in S5. </p>

I don't believe the outcome of Samaritan was unexpected at all. There was no way this long running storyline was going to be completed by the end of this season. What viewers are/were hoping for has nothing to do with what the writers decide to do. It's been obvious for seasons that there was going to be more to the show than just the numbers each week. It's always had other storylines throughout.

Watched it from the pilot on.

<p>That's perfectly understandable. IMO they introduced her as a pretty multi-faceted character, but decidedly troubled and dangerous. They seemed to backtrack a little on that, so she's a more viable helper to TM (although still disturbed and dangerous.) That said, I don't like Greer or Control, so I know how you feel. </p><p>I think if it's either Dominic or Elias that's killed, I'd have to say the death would be Elias. </p>

<p>Doubtful. She's too important an asset right now. She's able to learn so much from the machine and deal with other things while John and Harold are fighting fires in NYC. As a viewer, I was delighted that they finally offed droidCarla, but I'd be happier if we had a few more wins. It seems that Samaritan has had the upper hand all season long. It would be a nice end to the season if TM put the hurt on Samaritan to start S5. No telling what's going to happen with Elias and Dominic, too. Wouldn't be surprised to see Elias come to a bad end. </p>

<p>Ah, "The Shining" strikes again! Personally, I think Samaritan and Greer are closer than we think. Greer's not going away any time soon. </p>

It's a characterization we've seen many, many times before on any number of shows. Mannheim does a great job, but it's tiring. I did notice her "friend" comment, which appears to be her idea that she's sees team machine as a possible ally, but you could never trust her. Plus, in the end she's damaged goods. As for her being a truth seeker, I believe that's somewhat true. She's only looking for the truth so she can stay ahead of it all. She will only seek the truth so long as she can use it, especially against someone. </p>

<p>They still use them in several banks around my town. It always amuses me a little because I remember when they were used in the drive thru aisles in banks years ago when my cousin was a teller. There was a problem with one of the tube systems and they had to close the aisle and dig up the pavement to get to the tube. It contained the customer's transaction! Also, when I was a kid, one of our department stores used them for handling cash transactions. It would always fascinate me to watch the tube disappear and reappear. </p>

<p>I don't see Control coming to the rescue...at least I hope not. I don't want Team Machine being beholden to her. </p>

<p>Rubbra, I truly loved your review and agreed with you on most of your points. Now, I want to see Hot Tub Time Machine more than ever! </p>

<p>I've really enjoyed the last few episodes, because they haven't been totally Samaritan-centric. It's been a nice change to see the team busy with numbers instead of always having a challenge from Samaritan and Greer. However, above and beyond that, I thought this episode was a much needed update on what Reese has been dealing with for years. His guilt at not saving Jessica, Carter, and more recently, Shaw...it's clear that he's particularly damaged by these losses. His future intentions with Finch and Co. was obviously troubling him. Reese's internal talk with himself (and Carter), I believe, opens him up to see his priorities and strengthens his resolve to carry on this good fight. Also, it may open him to a possible relationship, although that may or may not work out. For me, this was an important issue, and we needed to see Reese face some facts before he goes any further with what lies ahead. </p>

<p>Very good episode...one of their best. Had so much going for it, and it was especially good to see Taraji back. </p>
