Chris Beckner is the computer science teacher at the Brooklyn School of Science and Humanities (BSSH) which Caleb Phipps attends. Caleb wrote a groundbreaking compression algorithm and approached Chris to help sell it. Caleb didn't want any credit for it, but only wanted to set up a trust fund for his mother. However, Beckner set up the whole deal giving Caleb full credit for his invention.
