Jack Tanner is a police officer and former student at East Springs High School.

Tanner greets Shaw at a bowling alley during the 20t anniversary high school reunion, thinking she is Betty Harris, who she is posing as.
He later appears at a ballroom dance and attempts to flirt with Shaw. When Matthew Reed's contraption triggers to drop a mannequin of his deceased girlfriend Claire Klein on the floor (to torment former classmate Doug Hemmill), Tanner inspects the mannequin.
He later arrests Doug after the case is closed.
