Creating loose ends[]

Here's something I just thought while working on content from this episode in the ES wiki: instead of getting rid of every threat, Douglas and Lawson only created more loose ends for them.

Think about it. They were supposed to give money to Talbott, they asked Zoe to do it and then had a lot of trouble with Zoe.

Douglas could have gone there himself, killed Talbott easily and not getting Zoe involved at all = No loose ends. Instead, they reached Zoe and then had to get rid of her. I mean, it's like they hired her only to get rid of her. Right? ~Playsonic2 12:22, December 28, 2013 (UTC)

Very true. It was implied that Douglas had killed Dana and others. Perhaps, Talbott knew of Douglas' danger potential and insisted on an itermediary.

As with many POI episodes (and countless other TV shows) the show would be over in 5 to 10 minutes if they picked another way to achieve their goals. A good example was "the Crossing" where the whole episode was based on the premise of covering a few dozen blocks of HR controlled territory to reach the federal building. All Carter had to do was pick up the phone and contact Homeland Security or half a dozen other agencies and they would have come running with a fully armed escort. But then again, the show would have lasted 5 to 10 minutes and there would be no reason for the whole creepy kiss thing!
