"When Things Explode", by Unkle (featuring Ian Astbury), is a song featured in the Person of Interest episode “Number Crunch”. It is played in the end of the episode. In the sequence, Snow lures Reese to a parking garage, allowing Evans to shoot him before Carter helps him escape with Finch.
Two versions of the lyrics exist, a graphic version using the phrase "skull fucked" in the first line of the song, and a so-called "clean" version using the phrase "skull froze" in its place. The later version was used in Person of Interest; CBS Standards and Practices would not have approved use the graphic version.
This song, along with Unkle's "Burn My Shadow" feature vocals by guest performer Ian Astbury of the British post-modern band The Cult.
